I just clocked my 100th hour on FFX, and I just had to tell someone.
So, in honour of such an historic moment (ahem) I'm starting a thread about video games. Specifically, those games which you spent (or spend) way too much time on.
As well as the FF games, I nominate Conker's Bad Fur Day for the N64, which I played every day for about six months after it came out. Genius.

Torment: Planescape, which is a weird game (well, if you know anything about Planescape the paper and pen game, you'll expect weird) but which is really good. Yeah, you beat people up and kill them (hall mark of any quality video game) but you're mostly working on improving your people skills (intelligence, wisdom, and charisma) so that you can figure out who you are and how you got where you are and figure a way out of it all.
Then there's the Baldur's Gate Triology, based on 2nd edition D&D (Forgotten Realms setting), which takes you from level one up to level thirty. Again, yeah, you beat people up, but mostly you spend the game figuring who you (the character) are.
And for pure strategy, I've always had a soft spot for Lord of the Realms. Just a fun game. (Again, you get to kill people, just more than in the other two I mentioned)

strangly enough I don't really play games much anymore....course that could have alot to do with the fact I sold my ps2 when I got out of the army. but oh well no biggie. I do play neverwinter nights and the sims on the PC , although not as much as I did in my hayday. maybe I should get back into it?

Grand Theft Auto has always been a fav. for me. I've even marked the different kinds of stuff you can find on the map that came with the game.
I also used to play Fifa 2000 for hours on end. And I've recently installed it on my dad's new computer and am again playing it for hours on end.
But that's just waiting for my brother to get back home for the weekend so I can install every add-on for the Sims. That game is seriously addictive.
But in the end it's probably going to be replaced by GTA3. Only two one more week before the salary comes in.
BTW how do keep track of how much hours you play any particular game?

On the FF games it does it for you. This was the first of the series I'd played that kept me going for the big one-oh-oh so I thought I'd celebrate in a tiny way.

Don't worry, Jely, I know plenty of people who are addicted to Freecell.
My current and probably most time consuming is Diablo II (yes, eris, I'm still working on it). I seriously enjoy that game.
I remember spending about 90 hours on Final Fantasy 7 on the playstation. Started FF8, but stopped after prolly 30 hours (moved, got a gf, etc) and just haven't gotten back into it.
I'm also a big fan of Gran Turismo. I still play it when I pull out the playstation. Metal Gear Solid was also very addictive. The follow-up to it is why I want a PS2 (besides GT3).

The original Cilvilisation was a game that really took up way to much of my time. I only relised this when I sat down to play 'for a bit' after lunch and the next I know my mum is telling me its dinner time.
I am trying to cut back spending to much time on games but am currently playing Sim City4 and Moo3 (when the patch comes out )
Bran: Isn't MGS 2 coming out for the PC?

Asheron's Call for me. I've been playing it for about two years now. Its very addictive. Someone who plays less than 20 hours a week is considered a casual player. It's a Massive Multi-Player Online Game. Tryed afew of the others( Everquest, Ultima online etc) but seemed like just chat rooms with monsters.
PC games I ve been playing lately Civilization III, which was a bit of a burn as you have to buy the multiplayer seperate.
Waiting on Starwars Galaxies another Online game as well as City of Heros.

It's already out. BUT, I don't have a DVD-ROM drive.
I remember playing "Shining Force" on Sega once at my brother's apartment. Started playing just to see what it was like one Friday evening and next thing I knew, him and his roommates were waking back up on a Saturday morning.
(edited cause I misread Asis' question)
